Welcome to my virtual studio.  I've dabbled in arts and crafts most of my life and now have time to pursue new ideas for creating.   Want to give a homemade gift but don't have time to make it?  Email me and maybe we can work something out. Here are a few things I've been doing lately.  Just click on a picture to see more.   I'd also love it if you'd email or leave a comment on my blog to let me know I'm getting real people visiting.

Bead work

Picture
One of my passions is seed bead work, both weaving and embroidery, especially improvisational.  That is to say, no planning but listening to the beads tell me where I should place them.  My imagination can really soar as I watch the beadwork develop.  Some of my bracelet designs can be seen and purchased in Salida, CO at Beadsong.

Counted Cross Stitch

Counted cross stitch has been a favorite hobby for many years.  I love to stitch intricate and detailed designs that can then be framed, or incorporated into some other fabric art setting.  The possibilities strech as far as your imagination.

Knitting

Picture
As the weather gets colder, I find myself picking up a pair of knitting needles and happily stitching along.  So far this fall I've made 3 neck warmers and am currently knitting a scarf.  I had to run to Fringe yesterday to get a skein of hand dyed wool wound into a ball, so much easier than doing it by hand.

Paper craft

I've been busy making Christmas cards this month.  Maybe I'll even get them sent out this year.
UPDATE - I'm addressing envelopes and adding stamps.  I think they'll make it this year.

Artwork

Sometimes I just like to doodle and some of them get made into cards or something.

Quilting

Picture
Quilting has been a long time love as well.  Traditional quilts are a favorite, but I also enjoy free style, art quilts.  It's fun to just start sewing patches together and let the imagination take me soaring to unknown places.

Sewing

I recently picked up some pretty upholstery fabric at an estate sale and matched it up with this tote pattern.  Cross stitch and bead an insert and voila! a christmas gift for a special person. (I'm not telling who.)
